Great view of Chatsworth park
Peeping out of Stand wood this majestic tower which predates Stand Wood and once provided uninterrupted views of the hunt in this ancient deer park. Today 4 lakes feed the house and gardens. See the spectacular aqueduct and marvel at the Emperor Stream contouring around the moor.

There's actually two paths to get up here.
One direct with lots of steps, and the other through the forest, slow and steady.
Go past the animal park and turn right, you'll be walking away from the tower, but eventually it turns left again, heading on a slow path up to it.
You can stay in the tower.
Besides that you can walk around the outside and enjoy the view.
A few benches and some canons.
Nothing else up here, so don't expect much except a stunning view.

And of course, do be quiet as guests can be present.

The views from the grounds around the tower are fantastic. Three cannons pointing out over the derwent valley, with views of Edensor Church in the distance, and various parts of the Peak District. Definitely makes for a unique photo and on a blue sky day in autumn, must be wonderful to see (i went in early october, so the colours are only just starting to change

For anyone thinking about staying here. The sign says its private, but I imagine this tower is photod dozens of times a day, and tourists will be yards from your door
