Had an amazing breakfast at River and Roast Upstairs Cafe in Bakewell!
The food was absolutely delicious a perfectly cooked full English with great quality ingredients, generous portions, and everything served hot and fresh. The atmosphere upstairs is really lovely too: bright, clean, and relaxed, making it a great place to sit down and enjoy a proper breakfast or coffee.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick and attentive. You can tell they really care about giving customers a good experience.
If youre visiting Bakewell and looking for a great spot for breakfast or coffee, I highly recommend stopping by here. Definitely one of the best cafs in the area Ill 100% be coming back!
We had lunch on the last Sunday in March at River and Roast Cafe., during peak times. We knew it would be enjoyable having read previous reviews, but what made it special, besides the good company of friends, was the very attentive staff who served us. More than one waiter checked we'd been able to order, and also came back to check we had everything we needed. They paid a huge attention to detail, and did their best to customise the menu to our particular preferences. The waiters were really lovely to talk to too. One in particular Serdat ( hope I've finally got the spelling right? ) kept us entertained with his happy smile and life in Istanbul.I even ended up buying a necklace from.the jewellery display near the top of thd stairs entrance, which was being sold in support of a charity. Guys, you made our day!
Hubby and I stopped at this little upstairs caf in Bakewell as we were out and about on gallery deliveries in the area. We found it on Google and upon arrival we found that we were able to park right outside in a 30 minute parking bay with no charge.
The entrance is through a glass door next to Flossys caf. Go through the glass door and up the stairs and it opens up into a very smart, nicely done out, large seating area with plenty of tables, and a good amount of space between them so it doesnt feel crowded.
We were instantly greeted with a friendly hello and a smile and we chose a table by the window. The menu has good choices and is well priced and we both chose avocado with poached eggs on toast.
The food was well presented and very tasty. The whole place is very clean and tidy and we would happily return.
Well behaved dogs are welcome too :)
They even have a small corner of the restaurant with displays of locally made jewelry and pet portraits from a local artist.
